Sample Lab Technician

Sample Lab Technician

Job Description

As a Sample Lab Technician, you will be responsible in filling all customer sample requests for our site, First Choice Ingredients. This role holds a critical role in food defense and food safety. The ideal candidate will be required to work Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 3:30 PM.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Basic Math Skills (Able to convert grams or kgs. to pounds with calculator)
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Well organized and able to follow direction both verbally and written.
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
Job Responsibilities
  • Gathers products from various locations to fill sample requests.
  • Responsible for creating basic formulation samples.
  • Responsible for assisting in ordering supplies needed for lab samples; boxes, containers, coolers, ice packs; etc.
  • Responsible for assisting in inventory of containers and shipping supplies used in the lab for samples.
  • Assist in shipping samples; via Federal Express or UPS.
  • Accuracy in filling samples with correct product and labeling.

Production Labor (1st Shift)

Job Description

As a Production Labor, with direction from the Lead and Supervisor, you will produce various food ingredients, learning good manufacturing practices, and how to follow standardized formulas for weighing, measuring, and mixing raw materials. This position plays a critical role in food defense and food safety.

$2,000 Sign-on bonus

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be 18 years old to work in a plant job
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. as needed throughout the shift
  • Basic computer skills
  • At least one year production or food service experience preferred
  • Due to the nature, the position requires the ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) including hard hat, eye protection and in some cases other area specific PPE needs (e.g. ear protection, respirator)
Job Responsibilities
  • Loading and unloading of materials
  • Packaging of finished products
  • Operate forklift and material handling equipment
  • Cleaning of machines and facilities
  • Employees holding this position play a critical role in food defense and food safety. It is the responsibility of the employee to alert upper management to any food safety issues or concerns that they may encounter.
  • Play a critical role in assessing raw materials for conformance and consistency.
Pay Range

$20 - $21/hour

Supply & Inventory Planner

Supply & Inventory Planner

Job Description

As a Supply and Inventory Planner, you will support a diverse portfolio of primarily dairy concentrates and flavors, that requires managing the supply of both large quantities of bulk dairy commodities like cheese & butter and small quantities of highly specialized enzymes, flavor chemicals and other specialty raw materials. Due to our storage ability, though flexible, is not able to be expanded quickly, and requires an understanding of both planning principal and creativity for adjusting plans with space constraints in mind.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or equivalent.
  • Preferred 3 years planning/scheduling experience, with demonstrated execution and responsibility with a manufacturing plant, or equivalent plant level experience.
  • A demonstrated ability to navigate multilevel bills of material, including phantoms.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred
  • Strong Experience with planning processes in a manufacturing environment including capacity management and hours-based planning/scheduling
Job Responsibilities
  • Support the planning of finished goods and intermediate production for 500+ materials on a weekly basis within OMP planning production environments
  • Support the Sales & Operation Planning process by receiving and interpreting plant capacity, providing input for the supply review, and participating in the monthly operations review
  • Act as a liaison between business management and supply chain management to manufacturing to execute new product development and discontinuation
  • Responsible for make-to-stock inventory levels and on time delivery performance
  • Responsible for stocking strategies on intermediate stock to support make-to-stock finished goods strategy
Pay Range

Competitive salary and annual bonus opportunity of 5%
